LIFE Scrubsnet Dissemination Day (2nd Infoday)

Last Friday 21st, an information day on the Life Scrubsnet Project was held for the staff of the Nature Conservation and Protected Areas Service and the staff of the Public Management of Extremadura (GPEX). During the event, Ana Belén Lucas Pimienta, Technician of SECONA. DG of Sustainability of the Junta de Extremadura, partner of the project, presented the background that led to the award of the project and highlighted the importance of the conservation of protected areas and the need to implement sustainable measures to protect biodiversity and the environment.

Juan Pablo Martín, head of the R+D+I Department of Innogestiona Ambiental, coordinating partner of the LIFE SCRUBSNET project, presented the details of the project, whose main objective is to improve the management of scrublands and grasslands in protected areas in Spain through the use of innovative technologies and good practices.

In addition, Patricia Mora, Ceo of Innogestiona Ambiental, presented good practices and measures carried out in the Live Adapt project, such as the smart cistern “WaterAdapt” and the practice of reducing water evaporation in a pond by placing cork on the surface, called “PondAdapt”.

Atanasio Fernández García, Programme Manager for Protected Areas at SECONA, presented the specific actions assigned to the Nature Conservation and Protected Areas Service in the framework of the LIFE SCRUBSNET project.

Finally, the Head of the Nature Conservation and Protected Areas Service of SECONA, Daniel Martín Vertedor, thanked and ended the day’s proceedings for the participants, both in person and online.
