Special mention for the LIFE ScrubsNet project at the REDFORESTA Seminar on technologies for sustainable forest management

The European LIFE ScrubsNet project, coordinated by Innogestiona Ambiental, was mentioned as an example of agro-environmental innovation during the EXVER exhibition at the seminar ‘New technologies for sustainable forest management’, organised by the Official Association of Forestry Engineers and Graduates in Forestry and Environmental Engineering, within the framework of the REDFORESTA network.

This event, held recently and available on the official website redforesta.com, brought together professionals from the forestry sector, researchers and public and private entities to discuss technological solutions applied to the sustainability of forest and agroforestry landscapes.

During the presentation by EXVER, an Extremaduran company specialising in silviculture and ecological restoration, the innovative approach of LIFE ScrubsNet was highlighted, which is committed to the management of Mediterranean scrubland as a tool for biodiversity conservation, soil improvement and resilience to climate change in extensive livestock farming systems such as the dehesa. Particular mention was made of the development of the Livestock Management Protocol for the Protection of the Scrub Layer, available at www.lifescrubsnet.eu, as a technical tool for livestock farmers, technicians and administrations.

At Innogestiona Ambiental, we welcome this mention, which reinforces the project’s role in the national debate on new forms of integrated land management that reconcile production, conservation and climate adaptation.
