This time it is time to inform you about the technical actions carried out so far on the pilot farm Dehesa San Francisco, located in Santa Olalla del Cala, Huelva, Spain.
Specifically, all the plantations have been completed, including the enclosure of rabbits and corridors, the installation of drip irrigation in one corridor and the creation of ridges following the contour lines in another. In addition, all the other plantings have been completed and the rabbit enclosure has been planted with islands and tamarisks created using material from the farm itself. The marsh has also been fenced off, with the exception of a submerged section and the plantings on the bank, awaiting the lowering of the water level to be completed, which will increase the amount of vegetation in the area and improve the quality of the water.
The techniques that have been used, such as the installation of drip irrigation and the creation of ridges following contour lines, will help to save water and reduce soil erosion, while the creation of islands and tidal flats will promote biodiversity in the area.
We look forward to seeing the results of our work and hope to inspire others to follow our example and work together for a more sustainable future for all.
We will keep you informed of the next actions to be carried out. Stay tuned!
