Siruela Communal Estate: nest boxes and bat shelters strengthen biodiversity

At the Siruela Communal Estate, shelters for birds and bats have been installed, complementing ecological restoration and habitat creation for wildlife.

  • Birds: Ten nesting boxes for passerines were installed in holm oaks inside and around the fenced enclosure, providing safe places for breeding and protection from predators.
  • Bats: Ten specific shelters were placed in trees on the periphery of the fenced area, within its zone of influence, encouraging the colonisation and conservation of local bat species.

These structures contribute to increasing the biodiversity of the estate, reinforcing the function of the pasture as a multifunctional ecosystem and providing essential resources for auxiliary and pollinating fauna.

With this intervention, the Siruela Communal Estate reaffirms its commitment to species conservation and comprehensive ecosystem restoration.
