Siruela Communal Farm: new aquatic shelters for amphibians and reptiles

As part of the LIFE ScrubsNet project, the Siruela Communal Farm has implemented a measure to build and install shelters for wildlife, with the aim of promoting biodiversity and creating safe habitats for local species.

As part of this action, seven small ponds have been built using a backhoe, specifically designed to serve as shelters for amphibians and reptiles present on the estate. These new water points complement the existing natural areas and contribute to the creation of functional microhabitats, which allow these species to reproduce and take refuge safely, especially during periods of drought.

With this intervention, the Siruela Communal Farm reinforces its commitment to wildlife conservation and the ecological restoration of the pastureland, integrating species protection with sustainable land management.
