World Environment Day is an emblematic date that invites us to reflect on the state of our planet and the importance of caring for and preserving it for future generations. On this occasion, there is an urgent call for action from governments, organisations and citizens around the world.
The climate crisis is an undeniable reality and its effects are manifesting themselves in an increasingly intense and worrying way. Droughts, floods, more frequent and intense storms, and rising sea levels are some of the visible consequences of climate change. It is essential that we take decisive action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote the use of renewable energy and adopt sustainable practices in all areas of our lives.
In addition, biodiversity loss is another urgent threat we face. Deforestation, destruction of natural habitats, pollution and overexploitation of resources are driving species to extinction at an alarming rate. It is vital that we protect and restore ecosystems, promote the conservation of endangered species and adopt a more responsible and respectful approach to nature.
That is why the Life Scrubsnet project is doing our bit. This project aims to restore scrubland cultivation in dehesas, recovering and projecting a variety of habitats and their species, as well as directly influencing CO2 capture.
Together we can make a difference and preserve our common home!
